Membership with the SCDCTA
Our members encourage and support the growth of equestrian dressage and combined training in and out of the State of South Carolina.
And, promote, support, and organize equestrian competitions and training sessions. Membership benefits are listed below.
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:
- Newsletter with classified advertisements (via email).
- Three spectacular USDF shows, Winter, Spring and Fall.
- Our strong Junior program that includes our free dressage clinic.
- Automatic group membership with USDF (usdf.org).
- Subscription to monthly USDF Connection magazine.
- Rider achievement certificate and medals program.
- Annual awards banquet.
- Membership Year: December 1-November 30.
- Over 40 schooling shows yearly offering dressage, combined training and/or eventing to qualify for year-end awards.
SCDCTA AWARDS:
The SCDCTA has numerous awards for members to compete for year end awards.
Each discipline, Dressage, Combined Training and Eventing, is split into schooling shows, Medals and USDF/USEA shows. Within each category, it is further split by Adult Amateur, Junior/Young Rider and Open.
- Rider is an active member of SCDCTA in good standing.
- Horse was registered with SCDCTA at time of show.
- For schooling shows, the show must be SCDCTA approved.
- 8 Volunteer hours with SCDCTA required
- Additional rules for each type of award are listed on that award’s page
Business Member Benefits:
- GMO member with USDF
- Newsletter
- Eligible for year-end awards as an Adult Amateur or Open rider. (volunteer hours required)
- Eligible for SCDCTA member high and low score awards at SCDCTA recognized schooling shows and high score USDF shows (if available per the prizelist)
- Listed on the SCDCTA website, and in the newsletter with their Logo or business card
- Listed in the USDF Recognized Show Programs (Low Country Classic, Springtime Dressage, and Oktoberfest Dressage). Can promote business with a banner at SCDCTA Recognized USDF Shows. The owner must provide the banner to the show organizer (Marcy Hippey).
- ½ page ad in the newsletter twice per year or a full page ad once per year. Must request this ad and provide the graphics/text for the ad to the editor at editor@scdcta.com
- 50% reduced cost for any additional ads requested for the newsletter.
- Business profiled in newsletter once/year.
- Promotion of their business on the Public SCDCTA Group Facebook page. Only businesses that are members can promote their business on the SCDCTA Group Facebook page.
- Schooling Show Recognition $5 for business members.
